Gothic

We talk about The Gothic to start off with. In Frankenstein, we get a sense that of the gothic story. There is usually a heroine who is dependent on the main male character. There is a weird and creepy sense to the story. It is dark and ominous but not particularly scary. The Dr. goes insane gradually and creates this monster. The monster is dehumanized and revered by everyone that comes in contact with it, especially the doctor.
