Sci-fi satire
For this week, I started to read something outside of the list but still goes along with our sci-fi, weird theme. It is called the "Memory Police" by Yoko Ogawa. I highly recommend it! What led me to it was it's beautifully designed cover that collages together both photo and drawn parts of a young woman's face. Objects start disappearing, small stuff until it isn't small stuff anymore and it's people. No one is supposed to notice either due to the memory police who make sure what is forgotten stays forgotten. This woman tries to hide her editor from the memory police and things get difficult. It is like "The Diary of Anne Frank" meets "Momo" by: Michael Ende which is another good book, especially for this course.
